Ysgol y Garreg Pupils Bring Eisteddfod Spirit to Bodawen Nursing Home

Residents and staff at Bodawen Nursing Home were delighted to welcome a special visit from pupils of Ysgol y Garreg, who brought music, smiles and a wonderful sense of community to the home.

During the visit, the children performed a selection of songs from Eisteddfod yr Urdd, filling Bodawen with the sound of traditional Welsh music and youthful enthusiasm. The performances were warmly received, with many residents joining in by singing along, clapping to the rhythm, and sharing fond memories of past Eisteddfodau.

In addition to singing, the pupils spent time interacting with residents, chatting, listening to their stories, and sharing laughter. These moments of connection created a meaningful and uplifting experience for everyone involved, highlighting the importance of intergenerational links within the community.
Staff at Bodawen Nursing Home expressed their gratitude to Ysgol y Garreg for the visit, noting the positive impact it had on residents’ wellbeing and mood. The children’s visit not only celebrated Welsh culture and language but also reinforced the strong community values shared by both the school and the nursing home.

Bodawen Nursing Home looks forward to welcoming Ysgol y Garreg again in the future and continuing to build on this special relationship that brings joy, companionship and cultural pride to residents and visitors alike.
