Local Ukulele Group Brings Music, Memories, and a Beat to Bodawen
Bodawen Nursing Home was alive with music, rhythm, and joy this week as a local ukulele group paid a lively visit to entertain residents with a set of familiar favourites and classic sing-along tunes.
The group, known locally for their upbeat performances and community spirit, brought a fresh energy to the home as they played beloved songs from decades past—everything from 1950s rock ’n’ roll to timeless Welsh melodies. Residents clapped, sang, and even danced along as the music filled the room and smiles lit up every face.
Adding to the fun was Bodawen resident Mike, a retired musician and passionate drummer, who joined the group on percussion. With his drum kit at the ready, Mike kept the beat going and had the entire room moving in rhythm.
The ukulele group made it a fully interactive afternoon, encouraging residents to sing along and even take part in simple percussion with tambourines and shakers provided.
